Our Directors

THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Central Georgia EMC is owned by the people it serves. The governing body of the Cooperative is the Board of Directors. The directors are elected at the Annual Meeting of Members which is held each August. Directors serve three-year terms and come up for re-election on an alternating basis so that experienced directors remain on the board at all times.

The duties of the Board of Directors include hiring the President and developing the policies of Central Georgia EMC. The President is responsible for selecting qualified personnel so that the Cooperative may be operated in the most effective manner. The President is responsible for seeing that the Board approved policies are implemented.

The board members meet regularly on the fourth Wednesday of each month. They serve without salary, but do receive per diem and expense allowances when conducting business on the Cooperative's behalf.

Our members elect the Board of Directors of CGEMC. An elected eight-member board of directors determines CGEMC's policies and procedures. The President, George Weaver, is responsible for carrying out the policies and operational details through CGEMC's team of senior staff members, managers and employees. Together, they bring a level of customer support that is unsurpassed in the EMC industry. Below is a directory of board members by district.
