Friends of the Monroe County Library, Inc. received a $1,500 grant from the Central Georgia EMC Foundation for their summer reading program.
The innovative and immersive program aims to expand literacy opportunities for children, teens, and adults during the months that school is not in session. In addition to reading goals and rewards, professional entertainers and educators provide special programming to engage and interact with the children and parents. These programs create lasting impressions and inspire participants to further explore the topics through literature.
