Operation Round Up

A community support program that lets members round up their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar. The spare change collected from participating members is combined into a charitable fund that provides grants to local nonprofits, schools, and families in need. Together, these contributions help improve lives, strengthen local communities, and make a lasting difference where we live and work.

Operation Round Up

Operation Round Up makes it easy for members to give back to their community. Each month, your electric bill is automatically rounded up to the nearest dollar, and the extra change—just a few cents—goes into a special charitable fund managed by the Foundation Board.

For example, if your bill is $64.35, you’ll pay $65.00, with 65 cents donated to support local nonprofits, schools, and families in need.

The average contribution is about $6 a year, yet these small amounts add up to make a big difference in the community. For less than the cost of a cup of coffee, your monthly donation helps fund worthwhile community projects and improve the quality of life for neighbors across our service area.

All Operation Round Up contributions are tax-deductible, and a summary of your annual giving appears on your January electric bill.

How will the money be used?

The Central Georgia EMC Foundation was created to disperse the money collected by Operation Round Up®.

Requests for assistance, by charitable organizations, will be evaluated and grants awarded by a separate board of directors made up of 8 volunteer members, one from each of the Central Georgia EMC Board of Director’s service territories.

The primary purpose of Operation Round Up is to address charitable needs and provide financial assistance anywhere in the 14 counties served by Central Georgia EMC. Your contributions will go toward improving the lives of others, and the funds will not be used for political purposes or electric bills.

The following counties will be served by the program: Bibb, Butts, Clayton, Fayette, Henry, Jasper, Jones, Lamar, Monroe, Morgan, Newton, Pike, Putnam, and Spalding.

I'm an organization!   How do I apply?

Organizations are invited to submit an application to the Central Georgia EMC Foundation. The Foundation Board will review grant requests and administer the funds, based on the merit of each grant application and available funds.
