Operation Round Up is a community support program designed to raise funds to support worthy charitable and educational causes within the 14 counties served by Central Georgia EMC.
How does Operation Round Up work?
As a participant, your monthly electric bill will be automatically “rounded up” to the nearest dollar. For example, if your bill is $64.35, you will pay $65.00, with the .65 cents going into a special fund administered by the Central Georgia EMC Foundation Board.
The average contribution is $6 a year – a small amount to help worthy causes in our communities. For less than the cost of one soft drink, candy bar, or cup of coffee this small, monthly contribution can make a huge impact! The contributions are tax-deductible, and a summary of your gifts will be included in your January electric bill.
How will the money be used?
The Central Georgia EMC Foundation was created to disperse the money collected by Operation Round Up®.
Requests for assistance, by charitable organizations, will be evaluated and grants awarded by a separate board of directors made up of 8 volunteer members, one from each of the Central Georgia EMC Board of Director’s service territories.
The primary purpose of Operation Round Up is to address charitable needs and provide financial assistance anywhere in the 14 counties served by Central Georgia EMC. Your contributions will go toward improving the lives of others, and the funds will not be used for political purposes or electric bills.
The following counties will be served by the program: Bibb, Butts, Clayton, Fayette, Henry, Jasper, Jones, Lamar, Monroe, Morgan, Newton, Pike, Putnam, and Spalding.
