Henry County Cancer Services, Inc. (HCCS) received a grant for $2,500 from the Central Georgia EMC Foundation to help fund medication for cancer patients.
“We are here to help Henry County residents that are struggling with a cancer diagnosis,” said HCCS President Joane Whitson. “The various medications taken by a cancer patient are the greatest expense. Thanks to the generosity of Operation Round Up participants, we are able to provide help with purchasing that medication.”
The mission of HCCS is to assist individuals struggling from the effects of cancer and to assist them at their point of need. The organization believes that cancer patients should not have to worry about missing treatment due to lack of funds. All funds raised are used to provide medication, medical co-pays, wigs, and nutritional supplements.
