Griffin Fire-Rescue received a grant for $1,669 from the Central Georgia EMC Foundation to purchase three sets of Prestan Adult CPR Training Manikins with American Heart Association compliant monitors.  

“Over 25 years ago, our department began an initiative to train as many people as possible in the lifesaving skills of CPR,” said Fire Chief Tommy Jones. “Since the program’s inception, we have trained thousands in these critical life-saving skills and, thanks to Operation Round Up, we will have the tools to train thousands more.”

The American Red Cross, the accrediting agency for this initiative, requires that all training mannequins have a built-in CPR rate monitor that provides instant feedback to students regarding the depth and rate of compressions. This grant will replace three sets of noncompliant units.
