Thank you for being a valued member of Central Georgia EMC (CGEMC). As described in the June member newsletter and email distributed on August 1st, most CGEMC rates include a Wholesale Power Cost Adjustment (WPCA) rider. As a not-for-profit electric cooperative, we have been fortunate to maintain the WPCA at zero for a number of years. The WPCA factor for energy billed in August is 0.018800 (1.88 cents per kilowatt-hour). The WPCA factor and applicable amount will be itemized on your monthly billing statement. This factor is subject to change each month and is driven by the cost of generating electricity.
We strive to keep rates among the lowest in Georgia, and we understand the impact that higher costs have on everyone. We offer a variety of programs and services to help members conserve energy, lower electric bills, and level expenses. Thank you for your understanding as we continue working to minimize wholesale power costs and lessen any hardship to CGEMC members. Please contact a Customer Service Representative with any questions about the WPCA or your CGEMC account.
