Locust Grove High School received a grant for $1,975 from the Central Georgia EMC Foundation to purchase STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) material kits for students.
"We are so grateful for the support of the Central Georgia EMC Foundation," said Cassandra Norsworthy, STEM teacher. "Our students are so excited to get the chance for hands-on learning experiences."
The STEM lab kits include activities related to aeronautics and flight, land transportation, mechanism, and alternative energy. Students will gain interest and learn skills they can apply to future career pathways.
The average Operation Round Up participant's donation is fifty cents per month, but that "change" adds up to make a big difference in local communities.
