Monroe County Emergency Services received a $2,500 from the Central Georgia EMC Foundation to purchase storm debris removal equipment.
Monroe County has been declared a disaster area by FEMA five times since 2008 for tornadoes, hurricanes, flooding, and a historic ice storm. Severe weather requires firefighters and emergency responders to help citizens by clearing roads and driveways blocked by downed trees and other debris. The new equipment will help maximize Monroe County Emergency Service’s ability to respond to these needs.
