The Monticello-Jasper County Chamber received a grant for $2,840 from the Central Georgia EMC Foundation for the purchase of a portable sound system.

The sound system will be used during the Smithsonian Institution Crossroads: Change in Rural America exhibition and beyond for community events. Crossroads is a traveling Smithsonian exhibit that offers small towns a look into their past and highlights the changes that have affected their fortunes over the past century. The Jasper County exhibit opens December 7, 2019, and runs through January 11, 2020.
