The Central Georgia EMC Foundation awarded Project Linus a $4,000 grant to assist their aim of giving handcrafted blankets and quilts to comfort children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need.
“Thank you for helping us bring hope and comfort to the children in our community,” said Project Linus Chapter Coordinator Denise Varnadoe. “Because of your support, last year we were able to deliver 2,144 blankets for children in crisis.”
The Project Linus Chapter of Spalding, Pike, Lamar, Henry, Butts, Upson, and Fayette Blanketeers, as volunteers are known, will sponsor nine blanket-making days in 2022 to fulfill their blanket requests. Since the chapter’s inception in 2002, they have delivered over 33,700 blankets to children in need in local counties.
